His UK work includes the development of new methodologies for water resource and drought planning and their practical application for statutory Water Resource Management Plans (WRMP) and Drought Plans. His work in the UK and overseas has included research on the possible impacts of climate change on water resources, and the uncertainties and risks inherent in times of changing climate and implications for water resource and drought planning. His overseas experience includes major river and hydropower systems includes such as the Mekong, Lake Victoria and the Nile, the Zambezi, the Mahaweli Ganga and Lake Malawi, and the EU-China River Basin Management Programme (Yellow River).
